What do numbers look like?

In Reception we’ve been making the most of the wonderful autumn conditions and learning lots about numbers. We need to know how to count in order and how to write numbers but EVEN more important is understanding what a number actually looks like. For example, the number 5 means ‘5 of something’, such as 5 leaves, 5 fingers or 5 apples.

We enjoyed our learning so much that we used it to create a whole school display board, located in the middle hall. The children did ALL of the design, cutting and sticking themselves. Well done team!

You might like to chose some numbers of your own and show what they look like at home.
