6. Safe, Accessible and Stimulating Environment

How we make sure that our School and classrooms are safe, accessible and stimulating

Over the past five years we have renovated the entire School and in doing so we endeavoured to increase the size of each classroom for greater accessibility. All classrooms have an electronic whiteboard to help deliver fun and interactive lessons.  We also fitted sound absorbing panels into our dining hall to make the lunchtime experience a more tranquil one.

Within the constraints of a Grade 2 Listed Building spread over four floors, we have made regular improvements and adjustments.  Regrettably it has not been possible to install a lift, however we have created open plan spaces wherever possible to aid mobility.

Specialist teams, for example Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and the Camden Sensory Advisory Service provide guidance, advice and equipment for a child with particular access or support needs. You will find more information about Camden’s Sensory Advisory Service on this link.

A group of governors regularly review the physical environment across the school. We document these reviews and works in our Accessibility Plan. Please let the Inclusion Manager know if there are any accessibility issues that you think need attention.
