Autumn jobs in the Garden

Our junior Gardners pulled up the pumpkin plants to get the beds ready for another crop of veg. They raked and hoed to get the soil ready for sewing.
We planted carrots and put them under fleece tunnels so that they will manage to grow despite the cold weather.

Autumn is the time to tidy up and clear the garden. Our little Gardner’s raked and brushed the leaves into piles and then took them to our leaf habitat which provides a hibernation home for all sorts of creatures.

We also planted blue bell and snowdrop bulbs ready for the spring.

The chickens, as always, come out to play during gardening club. They love being fed lots of seeds by everyone.
