Celtic Harmony

Last Monday, Year 3 visited Celtic Harmony. The children stepped off the coach and walked through the ‘time-gate’. The Squirrels class became the Bears and the Bats class became the Wolves as the children went back in time and entered the Stone Age.  Throughout the day, the Bears and Wolves explored what life would have been like during Neolithic period.  The children watched a fire being made using friction, made their own shelters from branches and twigs found in the woods, made Stone Age tools, and finally become hunter-gatherers; looking for nettles, mushrooms and other plants and hunted for wild boar and red dear. They even got hunted a poor wooly mammoth using stick spears.
