Passport to the World

Year 4 started the Autumn Term by developing their geographical skills. The children learnt about the continent of Asia, focusing on the country of Vietnam. They explored what the land was like and what it was used for. Using Atlas, maps and Google Earth the children identified the different geographical features learning. For English, making cross curricular links, the children read the book ‘Song of the Mekong River’ about the life of a young Vietnamese girl. Later, using what they had learnt about the way of life on the Mekong River, they wrote their on Cinquain poems inspired by the Mekong River.
