Which material is best for a shelter?

Year 2 have been making predictions about materials.

The children tested the suitability of tin foil, kitchen roll and cloth to be used as a roof for a shelter in a storm.

The children poured water through each material and measured how much water passed through. They made sure they poured 100ml to make the test fair. The most suitable material was tin foil because 0 ml was left in the cup. Tin foil is therefore waterproof.
