During STEAM week, Year 5 took on a challenge to become engineers. We learnt about how engineers and architects plan and build skyscrapers and the techniques they use to make sure they are stable. Then we competed in teams to build the tallest possible tower using art straws in just 8 minutes. It was much harder than it sounds! We had to use all of our scientific skills to succeed including predicting results, evaluating our towers and working collaboratively. You can see some of our efforts in the pictures below.
