This week we have started reading about where rocks came from in the brilliant book – A Pebble in my Pocket. But what happened after the Earth cooled down and the first life began? Can you find out about the first life that ever lived on Earth? What were the first livings things and what were they like? What happened to them and what came next? You could make a poster or a book to show your learning.

Spelling:

With prefixes and suffixes, from the the word ‘possible’ can be made the words: impossible, impossibility, possibly, possibility. Use prefixes and suffixes to find more words from the following root words:

pressure

probable

promise

purpose

Reading:

Choose a theme or idea to write a poem about. Read a book about your theme and gather all your favourite words and phrases from the book to help you compose your poem.

Maths:

We investigated consecutive numbers. Can you make up your own investigation? For example, what happens if you add every other consecutive number? (1 + 3 + 5) Or what about if you add 6 consecutive numbers? Can you come up with own ideas, do the sums and find some patterns?

Science: 

When you are out and about this week, have a look to see how many ways you can find rock being used for buildings and roads. Draw and label a picture of what you find out.
