Building a city for the Gods

This half term Year 3 have been taking part in a project led by Hawking/ Brown architecture company in association with the RIBA (Royal institute of Architecture). The architects came to visit both Year 3 classes and led three workshops linked to our History and English unit of Greek Myths.

The children had to pick a ‘clients’ – an Ancient Greek Gods or Goddess – and decide what kind of space and temple their client would require.  Then they worked in pair or small groups to design and create a structure for the client taking inspiration from classical Ancient Greek architecture.
