The Quattuor-ratio Pattern

After some work on conjecture in Tracy’s maths group, Nathan and Raphael decided to go home and find out more about a pattern they discovered. They couldn’t find a name for it, so they decided to call it ‘The Quattuor-ratio Pattern’.

It involves the relationship between odd and even numbers. Anytime you add two consecutive odd numbers together, you always get a multiple of 4. For example:

1+3=4, 7+9=16, 21+23=44

The whole class were fascinated by their presentation and are now interested in finding their own patterns in maths.

Well done boys!
