Year Six visit the Jewish Museum

Year Six have had a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Jewish faith and the Kindertransport programme (which occurred just before World War Two broke out) when they visited the Jewish Museum in Camden this week. Children had the opportunity to go round the museum, learn more about Shabbat and understand the significance behind the spice box used at the end of Shabbat. The children loved tasting the grape juice children drink for this weekly festivity.

In the afternoon, the children listened to people who were involved in the Kindertransport programme from Germany to the UK. They were full of questions and all came away knowing a lot more about how it felt to be taken away from their homes at such a traumatic time.

The whole day was a wonderful way to round off our extensive work surrounding the Second World War during the Spring Term.
