Drawing with light

Photography club are learning about the ‘science’ of photography and it’s origins. After discovering that the Greek root word photography literally translates as ‘Drawing with Light’, the budding photographers selected and arranged different materials over a special ‘solar paper’. This paper, when exposed to UV light makes an negative imprint in various blue tones, with any completely opaque objects casting a white ‘shadow’. Before selecting materials, they had fun exploring their inherent textures and translucency or opacity.
