Year 4 Black History Month

After listening to a wonderful assembly led by Phil, Year 4 were ready to investigate an inspirational figure who is making a difference in the world today! We learnt all about Kimberly Bryant who is the Founder and Executive Director of Black Girls CODE. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to “changing the face of technology” by introducing girls of color to the field of technology and computer science. We explored the Black Girls CODE website and became inspired by the stories of the girls involved in this organisation. It was then our turn to give coding a go! Unsurprisingly, we discovered you needed a lot of resilience to code and an excellent growth mindsets!
