In their art lessons with Alice, Year 6 have been exploring different ways to create tone and tonal range in drawing. They moved around the room to different ‘stations’ where they observed different fruits and in particular how light fell on to their different surface textures and shapes. They then created studies of them using a variety of black and white media to create tonal range. They produced some really dynamic and well observed drawings. They had to work to strict timings as all of the class had to finish and move to another ‘station’ at exactly the same time for the exercise to work.
